Important Update: ZIP Code Validation for Credit Card Payments Beginning June 15, 2026 

Beginning June 15, 2026, ZIP code validation will be required for all credit card transactions made through our payment system. This added security measure helps protect cardholders and reduce fraudulent transactions. 

To help avoid payment delays or declined transactions, we encourage all online payers to review any saved or stored payment methods before June 15, 2026 and confirm that the billing ZIP code entered matches the ZIP code associated with the card on file with your financial institution.  

If your billing address or ZIP code has recently changed, please update your saved payment information as soon as possible. 

About Your Bill

Monthly utility bills are prepared, mailed, and received by the Finance Office at City Hall, located at 123 South Lincoln Street. Utilities that may be included are water, sewer, garbage, recycling, and stormwater.

Online Payments

Online payments may be subject to a surcharge that is not greater than our cost of acceptance. In addition to the surcharge, Municipal Online Payments charges a fee of $1.25 per transaction. The Municipal Online Payment Fee will appear as a separate charge on your statement.

Payment Processing

Your online payment will show as "Pending" until the payment is processed the next business day. Your account balance will not be reduced until payment processing is complete.

Other Methods of Payment 

In addition to our online payment option, payments may be made at City Hall (via the drop box located in the north parking lot), automatically withdrawn from your bank account by enrolling in automatic withdrawal (return form to Finance Office), or mailed to the Finance Office at: 123 South Lincoln Street, Aberdeen, SD 57401.
